It has been awhile since I posted. I have been very busy with work. I attended a Virology Symposium in Florida to present data from a research project that I have been working on for the past ten months. It was a blast! Attended lectures, presented my data and played on the beach. I was glad, though, to come back. I really missed my wife and friends!
While I was there, I tried to visit St. Nicholas' Greek Orthodox Church in Tarpo Springs but no one was there on a Saturday :-( They have a Greek community there. I bought an Icon(Christ crucified on the Cross); originally written! Although, when I bought it, I noticed that by the counter you could by lighters and pictures of naked women. It seemed just wrong to purchase and Icon with these things nearby!
Terrible trajedy in our Parish. One of our Priests, Father Thomas, passed away yesterday. He was relatively young with three teenage children and a wife. He had a form of non-fatal immunodeficiency. He was expected to live a normal life with this while taking Prednazone. He apparently died in his sleep yesterday. Please pray for him and his family. I still can't believe it. The funeral is this weekend. He was to start a Mission Church soon.
